Using traditional classroom textbooks and other teaching/learning materials with a CBI
Where a class set of texts and/or workbooks are being used, some teachers have found it useful to scan pages and to project the images via a data projector. How much better if these images were 'live' surfaces upon which the teachers or students (especially) could write (annotate)? ...and save the annotated work for later revision, or for comparion with students' answers?
Increasingly, textbook material is also provided in digital format. This could be an accompanying CD with the book as a PDF, or perhaps an online revision test (for class or for student assessment)
Gill and MacMillan provide online revision tests for many
of their second-level books at http://www.my-etest.com/
(free registration is required); and they also provide Support Materials (i.e.
answers) -
some of which (like Business and Chemistry) are in PDF format at http://www.gillmacmillan.ie/ecom/Library3.nsf/SupportMaterialTeachers
Prim-Ed Publishing has now produced a multitude of Interactive resources for all interactive whiteboards that were traditionally in book/poster format. They can be found at the following link http://www.prim-ed.com/search.php?searchterm=interactive
The Educational Company are supporting the CBI Project by making available PDF format of some of their textbooks
