Ed Compass (http://www.edcompass.com/) is the US-based online community for educator-users of SMARTboards. This site has Lesson Activities, How To's, Tips and Tricks, Research Reports

SMART Technologies - Educator Resources http://education.smarttech.com/ste/en-US/Ed+Resource has lots of links and resources (including training materials)

Note that SMART files end with the extensions .xbk, .nbk, .xbc, .xbt and .xbi

BrainPOP Flash movies (each is about 300 Kb)
Access five free BrainPOP educational animation movies for your K-12 classroom. - these just run via your Browser. Included are 'Basic Probability' 'Bill of Rights' Computer Viruses' 'Humidity' and 'Similes and
Metaphors' ...each has a short animation, and a multi-choice quiz. Being Flash means you don't necessarily have to have a SMART Board

Number Cruncher (8.11 Mb)
Free to SMART customers, Number Cruncher software prompts students to solve mathematical equations on a SMART Board interactive whiteboard and confirms their answers. "Free to SMART customers" will check to see if a SMART Board is attached. You have to provide an email address.

Finale Notepad 2005 (7.3 Mb)
Transform your musical ideas into printed music, and play back your compositions with Finale Notepad 2005 software. (I think Finale is excellent!) You have to provide an email address.

Speller (19 Mb)
Free to SMART customers, Speller software prompts students to spell words on a SMART Board interactive whiteboard and provides feedback on their answers. There are also extra packs (XP Voices, 9 Mb; UK Year 1-6, 10 Mb; UK Year 7-12, 17 Mb; Fill in the Blank, 9 Mb) "Free to SMART customers" will check
